The Second Wedge Brewing Company
The Uxbridge Wedge is the second of the four wedges of the Oak Ridges Moraine. It’s a landscape of rollercoaster hills that’s ideal for cycling, running, hiking and riding. It’s a source of fresh water, home to hundreds of species and responsible for some seriously gorgeous trails.
Located in the heart of Uxbridge, Ontario, the brewery´s focus is on crafting and sharing ales full of flavour and character. They’re inspired by the world’s finest small breweries and the brewers believe that putting heart and soul into their work is what makes it worthwhile.
Gruitbeers
Gin Joint Gruit Ale acts as one of the seasonal beers of the range. Inspired by the botanicals in the favourite cocktail spirit of the house, Gin Joint sparkles with a bright and aromatic blend of juniper, angelica root, cassia, orange peel, coriander and cardamom. It makes an excellent beer cocktail mixed 2:1 with tonic water and may be garnishes with lime. It´s an easy but interesting to drink with 5,0 % ABV and 20 IBU brewed from barley and wheat malt.
We also found another gruit ale from The Second Wedge: Foggy Water Gruit Ale brewed with herbs from their friends of Foggy River Farm, Kate and Phil. Hibiscus flowers add tartness and a rosy glow. Marshmallow leaf adds body. Holy basil finishes the trifecta with a palate awakening freshness.
